On June 1, at the invitation of the organizer, Dr. Liang Xiaohui, chief researcher of the China Textile Federation, participated in a sub-forum themed "Business and Human Rights in Asia: From the First Decade to the Next Decade". At this sub-forum, which was attended by representatives of the governments and industries of Asian countries from Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, as well as representatives of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights, participants discussed, since the adoption of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in 2011, The development of business and human rights issues in Asian countries. In his speech, Dr. Liang Xiaohui pointed out that in the past ten years, China has experienced a golden age in the fields of industry, commerce and human rights. All parties have an unprecedented level of awareness of the behavior of responsible companies, and relevant requirements have also been incorporated into domestic and foreign investment, multilateral and bilateral Good business practices in the area of responsible corporate conduct are also emerging in trade and investment agreements, national human rights action plans and national policies in the field of global governance. He believes that the Chinese government and enterprises will continue to strengthen their policy commitments and innovative practices in the field of industry, commerce and human rights, and he calls on all domestic and foreign stakeholders to uphold and implement more constructive participation and cooperation in this process.
From June 15 to 16, 2021, the 2021 UN Global Compact Leaders Summit will be held online. On June 15, Dr. Liang Xiaohui, the chief researcher of the China Textile Federation, was invited by the organizer to introduce China's textile and apparel industry at the conference forum themed "Towards a carbon-neutral future digital silk road - China's experience". Work on responsible investment and sustainable development at home and abroad, noting that a brighter future for industry and global sustainability depends on “depoliticized” cooperation and encouragement and support for innovation.
