From November 27th to 28th, 2021, the "Business and Human Rights 2021 China Forum" jointly organized by the China University of Political Science and Law Institute of Human Rights, the Institute of Data Research, the Center for Rule of Law and Sustainable Development, and the Norwegian Center for Human Rights at the University of Oslo will be held online. The format of the meeting was successfully held. From Human Rights Bureau of the Information Office of the State Council, China University of Political Science and Law, University of Oslo, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Nankai University, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China Foreign Affairs University, McGill University of Canada, Polish Institute of Human Rights and Business, Beijing Chenzhang More than 30 domestic and foreign experts and scholars from law firms, China Textile Information Center, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Minmetals and Chemicals, and Shenzhen Institute of Contemporary Social Observation and other ministries, universities, scientific research institutions and practical departments participated in this forum, focusing on industry and commerce A comprehensive, in-depth and detailed discussion was held with human rights.
The opening ceremony of the forum was chaired by Professor Zhang Wei, Executive Vice President of the Institute of Human Rights of China University of Political Science and Law. Shi Jianzhong, Vice President of China University of Political Science and Law, Li Xiaojun, Director of the Propaganda Department of the Human Rights Bureau of the State Council Information Office, and a second-level inspector made wonderful opening speeches. President Shi Jianzhong pointed out that the resolution of business and human rights issues requires all countries to abandon unilateralism, protectionism and hegemonism, engage in constructive dialogue at the global level, and strive to build a good international paradigm for cooperative governance of business and human rights. From the enterprise level, whether going out or bringing in, it is necessary to introduce a human rights compliance mechanism. Director Li Xiaojun called for attention to industrial, commercial and human rights issues from both theoretical and practical perspectives, to explore beneficial practices for responsible business conduct, to truly put the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind into action, and to contribute to the healthy development of human rights in China and the world .

This forum is divided into five units. The first unit of the forum was chaired by Prof. Bai Guimei from Peking University Law School. The speakers included Dr. Liang Xiaohui, Deputy Chief Economist of China Textile Information Center, Prof. Zhang Wanhong from Wuhan University Law School, and Lu Zhian, Executive Deputy Director of Human Rights Research Center of Fudan University. The normative path dilemma and its impact on treaty negotiations” “The 5Rs of Human Rights Due Diligence: Risk, Rights, Respect, Responsibility and Regulation” “Remedies for Corporate Human Rights Violations Mechanism” etc. delivered keynote speeches, and the guests actively participated in the discussion.     
The second unit of the forum was chaired by Professor Zhang Aining of China Foreign Affairs University. Flanke, a doctoral student in international law from Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Chen Si, a doctoral student in law from McGill University in Canada, delivered keynote speeches on "Theory and Practice of Business and Human Rights".

The third unit of the forum was chaired by Gudmundur Alfredsson, Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Human Rights, China University of Political Science and Law, John Pace, former Secretary of the UN Commission on Human Rights and Coordinator of the Vienna World Conference on Human Rights. . Pace), Professor Beata Faracik of the Polish Institute of Human Rights and Business, Dr. Liang Xiaohui, Deputy Chief Economist of China Textile Information Center, Sunn Skadgard, President and Founder of Global Corporate Social Responsibility Sune Skadegaard Thorsen, and Professor Bard Anders Andreassen from the Norwegian Center for Human Rights and other domestic and foreign experts from the field of business and human rights at home and abroad focused on the "United Nations Human Rights Committee on Efforts on Business and Human Rights", "The Role of Civil Society in Driving the Business and Human Rights Agenda", "Building Supply Chains That Respect Human Rights and Balance Responsibilities", "The Challenges of Mainstreaming Business and Human Rights at the UN Level", "Corporate Human Rights Assessment and Due Diligence", etc. The topic was heatedly discussed.

The fourth unit of the forum was chaired by Li Bingqing, a doctoral student at the Institute of Human Rights of China University of Political Science and Law. Associate Professor Li Zijin, Deputy Dean of the School of Law and Politics, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Mr. Hao Zuocheng, Executive Director of the Research Center for the Rule of Law and Sustainable Development of China University of Political Science and Law, Mr. Wu Chen from Beijing Chenzhang Law Firm, Mr. Zhou Lulu from the Human Rights Research Institute of Guangzhou University and other guests gathered around the "Labor Keynote speeches were delivered on topics such as protection of human rights and rest rights", "digital economy and human rights development", and "platform responsibility", and all participants had in-depth discussions.
The fifth unit of the forum was chaired by Professor Zhao Shukun from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. Professor Wang Xiumei from the Law School of Northwestern University, Sun Lihui, Director of the Development Department of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Minmetals and Chemicals, Associate Professor Fan Jizeng from the Law School of Shandong Business University, and Dr. Liu Kaiming from the Shenzhen Institute of Contemporary Social Observation, etc. Hard Law and Soft Law Mechanism, "Responsible Supply Chain", "Application Practice and Real Challenges of Guiding Principles of Industry, Commerce and Human Rights in Chinese Industry", "Constitutional Analysis of Labor Rights Protection Standards of the Draft China-EU Comprehensive Investment Agreement from the Perspective of EU Law" ” are discussed in detail.

After two days of ideological collision, the "Business and Human Rights 2021 China Forum" finally came to a successful conclusion. Professor Zhang Wei, Executive Deputy Dean of the Human Rights Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law, made a concluding speech at the forum. During the forum, all the guests actively offered suggestions, shared their latest research results related to the topic, and reached a certain consensus, which played a certain role in promoting the development of industry, commerce and human rights issues.
