The Workshop on the Bangladesh Employer Toolkit for Gender Equality was successfully held by the Social Responsibility Office of CNTAC and the Asia Foundation in Dhaka, Bangladesh.The meeting also received strong support from the Bangladesh Office of the Asian Foundation and the Giz Asia Sustainability Program. Nearly 40 people from Bangladeshi labor departments, non-governmental organizations, enterprises, international institutions, and representatives of Chinese-invested textile and garment enterprises attended the seminar.

The meeting was held under the framework of the project "Building Gender-Sensitive Corporate Responsibility for Overseas Chinese Textile and Apparel Investors" initiated by the organizer, and was a consultation meeting for stakeholders in Bangladesh. The theme of the meeting is to solicit opinions and suggestions on the toolkit for improving gender equality in enterprises (standard and Bangladeshi versions) developed by project experts, so as to revise and improve the toolkit applicable to local Chinese-invested enterprises. At the meeting, Zheng Jian from the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile and Apparel Council introduced the background, goals and latest progress of the project. Then Dr. Liang Xiaohui introduced the standard version of the toolkit developed by the project team, and experts from Bangladesh introduced the Bangladeshi version of the toolkit. Stakeholders who participated in the meeting really had active and enthusiastic discussions on the toolkit, and put forward many constructive suggestions for revision.
