Amidst the deepening of China's modernization and the accelerated implementation of the global sustainable development agenda, a new round of industrial transformation is surging forward. This has set higher standards and enriched the contemporary connotations for responsible business practices and sustainable development. Against this backdrop, on November 28, the launch ceremony of the CSC9000T Corporate Sustainability Compact for Textile and Apparel Industry (2025 Edition) and the industry's social responsibility construction exchange seminar were grandly held in Beijing.

The event was attended by leaders including Sun Ruizhe, the Party Committee Secretary and President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), former President Du Yuzhou, Vice Presidents Li Lingshen and Yan Yan, and Wang Hongwei, Vice Chairman of the China Financial, Trade, Light Industry, and Tobacco Workers' Union. Representatives from government departments, international organizations, industry associations, leading enterprises, and universities and research institutions gathered to discuss the path of responsible development and the blueprint for industrial upgrading, injecting strong momentum of responsibility into the high-quality development of China's textile industry.

The conference, themed “Invitation to Attend the CSC9000T 2025 Version Launch & Seminar: Advancing Social Responsibility in the Textile and Apparel Industry", also known as CSC9000T (2025 Edition). The CSC9000T (2025 Edition) continues to adopt the basic structure of “management system + code of conduct,” emphasizing process management, responsible management, and innovation management based on sustainability, forming a dynamic and collaborative management framework.
CSC9000T was born at a crucial time when China was integrating into the global economic system. Since its initial establishment in 2005 with the core structure of “management system + code of conduct,” it has undergone continuous deepening and expansion through the 2008 and 2018 editions. From focusing on the protection of workers' rights, CSC9000T has gradually developed into a comprehensive standard system covering three major responsibilities: human rights, environment, and market.

Today, as the global sustainable development agenda advances in depth, the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concept has become deeply rooted in people's hearts. The new round of industrial transformation and global regulatory changes are intertwined, bringing unprecedented opportunities as well as more severe challenges. In this new situation, how can enterprises truly implement ESG? How can they address new responsibilities arising from new business forms and new technologies? The conference organized a dialogue titled “Conversations on Responsibility and Sustainability: Let the Past Inform the Future,” inviting experts and senior practitioners from United Nations agencies, international sustainable standards organizations, industry associations, and well-known enterprises. They shared their experiences in social responsibility construction based on their own practices. The release of the CSC9000T (2025 Edition) is not only a tribute to the brilliant achievements of the Social Responsibility Office over the past two decades but also a reflection of the entire industry's firm consensus on sustainable development. Standing at this new historical starting point, the Social Responsibility Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council will take the 20th anniversary as an opportunity to continue to focus on the field of responsibility. It will ride the wave of global sustainable development and write an even more brilliant chapter of responsibility. |
