Jointly organized by China National Textile and Apparel Council, Myanmar Chinese Enterprise Chamber of Commerce and other institutions Build a harmonious and sustainable investment and business model, so that Chinese enterprises can better participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road" and establish a good and responsible image.

At present, China and Myanmar have reached important consensus on the "Belt and Road" initiative and the construction of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, and more and more Chinese enterprises have begun to pay attention to Myanmar. Rapidly sprouting manufacturing, cheap labor, and attractive foreign investment policies make Myanmar a hot spot for foreign investment to set up factories. Therefore, the garment processing industry, which is characterized by labor-intensive industries, has become a new force for Chinese investment in Myanmar in recent years. However, these Chinese-funded enterprises have encountered some problems and difficulties while developing continuously. In this regard, Luo Jun, executive vice president of the Myanmar Chinese Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, said: "The main problem is that the understanding of local laws and regulations, local folk customs, and living habits may not be enough, which will cause certain labor relations disputes. From time to time, there will be strikes in some enterprises, which have caused certain losses to both Chinese textile investment enterprises and our employed employees. Therefore, in view of the current situation, what is urgently needed is the management of textile and garment enterprises. It is extremely important to provide training for local employees, as well as for local employees.”

The two-day training gave a detailed presentation on the latest development trends of overseas corporate social responsibility, Myanmar's business environment, Myanmar's latest labor laws, health and safety, and environmental protection and other laws and regulations. It is worth mentioning that communication and communication based on Myanmar culture and The management mechanism and how to promote the dialogue between the labor and management of the enterprise were also comprehensively, professionally and authoritatively interpreted in the training. Representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in Myanmar actively participated in the training. In this regard, Xie Guoxiang, the Chinese Commercial Counselor in Myanmar, said: "I hope this training and seminar can further enhance the social responsibility awareness of Chinese-funded enterprises, and focus on labor relations, gender equality, Cultural management and other aspects will further enhance the social responsibility awareness and sustainable development capabilities of Chinese-funded enterprises in Myanmar, and establish a good image of responsible and responsible Chinese-funded enterprises."

In addition to training, the China National Textile and Apparel Council also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Myanmar Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce and the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association on October 17, dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of China and Myanmar's textile and garment industry and other industries. At present, there are 400 Chinese garment investment enterprises in Myanmar, employing about 400,000 local employees in Myanmar, which have played a positive role in the local economic and social development. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar, the export value of Myanmar's garment industry in 2010 was only US$3.37 million, while from April to September 2018, the export value of Myanmar's garment industry reached US$2.2 billion, and Chinese-funded garment enterprises contributed greatly. Regarding how Chinese-funded enterprises can better participate in the development of Myanmar's textile and garment industry, Kay Kane, secretary general of the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, said, "Myanmar has preferential policies for foreign investment. It can attract more companies to invest in Myanmar, and Chinese-funded textile companies need to set a successful example.”

China and Myanmar are connected by mountains and rivers, with stable bilateral relations and strong industrial complementarity. China's investment and cooperation in Myanmar has expanded from traditional energy, construction, transportation infrastructure and other industries to aviation, communications, agriculture, finance, law, tourism and other fields. How to make China's investment in Myanmar into a real responsible investment and sustainable development is particularly important. Yan Yan, director of the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile and Apparel Council, said: "I hope this will not only help Chinese textile and garment enterprises in Myanmar China’s investment in Myanmar truly achieves responsible investment and sustainable development, and hopes to influence the investment of Chinese companies in other industries in Myanmar. China’s overseas investment is definitely not just a matter of operation, but also how to achieve local integration, and The localized development of local communities, local culture and local laws can truly promote the local economy and make Chinese investment better accepted and welcomed by overseas countries along the “Belt and Road”.
