Project Introduction
Publish social responsibility reports and performance information disclosures for companies
China Textile Federation has long and deeply participated in various activities of the United Nations business and human rights agenda, bringing Chinese voices and Chinese solutions to this agenda.
At the end of October 2020,Authorizing the online convening of the sixth session of the United Nations Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Relationship between Transnational Corporations and Other Business Enterprises and Human Rights to elaborate legal Instruments on Transnational Corporations and Other Business Enterprises and Human Rights,Negotiations on amendments to the second edition of the draft treaty on business and human rights commenced. Dr. Liang Xiaohui, chief researcher of the Office of the China Textile Federation, attended the meeting as an advisor to the Chinese government delegation.
At the end of November 2020, the 8th UN Forum on Business and Human Rights was held online. Invited by the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights, China Textile Federation and nine major industrial and commercial organizations, including the International Organization of Employers, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Global Trade Association, participated in the "UNGPs Decade and the Roadmap for the Next Decade: The Perspective of Business Organizations". The session discussed the achievements and challenges of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). Dr. Liang Xiaohui pointed out that the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights are the broadest and most solid consensus reached by various international stakeholders on the human rights impact of enterprises in the past ten years. Therefore, in the next ten years, all parties should focus on On the basis of solving the challenges and problems faced by UNGPs, we will continue to strengthen this consensus, so as to continue to expand its application scope and strengthen its implementation effect.
In June 2021, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights celebrates its first ten-year anniversary. As an important part of this commemoration, the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights held an online forum on 7 July, which launched a year-long initiative to develop the next decade (2021-2030) of the UN Business and Human Rights Agenda The planning process; as the only Chinese representative who was invited to speak, Dr. Liang Xiaohui, chief researcher of the China Textile Federation, introduced China's achievements and challenges in the field of industry, commerce and human rights in the past ten years, and expressed his belief that the Chinese government and industry will continue to Participate in and contribute to this vital international agenda.
